Transmission needed to be replaced around 80,000 miles. And replacement parts are hard to find and extremely expensive. Expect your maintenance fees to be 2-3 times higher than other cars. Around 80,000+ cost of ownership in repairing broken parts was roughly $3000 a year. Looking into this specific model more. I found that this is based of the freelander a car so riddled with problems Land Rover re-purchased as many as they found to keep them off the road. I would steer clear of the Lr2 if you want to keep it for more than 5 years.
  • Compact, agile SUV. Performs very well.

Compact, agile SUV. Great ride. Only negative is replacing the key fob is super expensive $500 per fob lasts 2 yrs. I can’t find replace the battery without cutting open the fob. Frustrating. Otherwise the car drives and performs great! Has plenty power, beautiful sunroof and moonroof!

A car has to perfect to get all 5 stars, but this one is pretty close. It's a 2011 with 108k miles. A CPO warranty took care of a wheel bearing and a power steering pump. Even out of warranty, Land Rover paid 3/4 in replacing a grinding rear differential. KUDOS to them !!. It's been a great car. It still looks great, inside and out. It's fairly quiet and handles pretty good. Does great on the beaches of Outer Banks. Parts and maintenance are a little pricey, but I do oil changes myself. Spark plugs we're very easy. The drive belt at 100k is very tricky, so I had my local mechanic do it. Overall, I've been very satisfied with the car
